Overview

Dominique Kilmartin is counsel at the firm, where she focuses on complex litigation and appellate matters.  Dominique began her legal career as a law clerk to the Honorable Lee A. Solomon, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of New Jersey, before working at an Am Law 50 firm in New York City.  Following a two-year clerkship with the Honorable Katharine S. Hayden of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. Dominique joined Pashman Stein Walder Hayden P.C. in 2023. With extensive knowledge of federal practice and depth of experience as a federal law clerk, Dominique represents clients in complex commercial matters and appeals in federal trial and appellate courts in New Jersey and New York and provides local counsel on high-stake litigation matters in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Dominique’s diverse experience includes corporate governance and fiduciary litigation, shareholder and member disputes, employment litigation and arbitration matters, complex probate matters, and criminal defense.

While Dominique is a skilled written and oral advocate in the courts, she understands that effective client advocacy may be achieved without litigation.  She frequently advises clients on alternative strategies to resolve disputes, including through commercial arbitration and mediation, and has achieved successful results for individual and corporate clients through alternative dispute resolution.

Dominique has always demonstrated a strong commitment to providing pro bono legal services.  Since joining Pashman Stein, Dominique has written briefs to the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court on behalf of amici curiae on constitutional and other issues of great public importance.  She has been recognized by the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Board of Trustees for her work on a United States Supreme Court brief on its behalf.  She has also briefed and argued several criminal appeals on behalf of the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of New Jersey before the New Jersey Supreme Court.

Dominique earned her J.D., cum laude, from Seton Hall University School of Law, where she was an editor for the Seton Hall Law Review.  She is also a proud graduate of Villanova University, where she received her B.A. in Political Science and Italian Studies, magna cum laude.
