Robert P. Stein

Special Counsel

Overview

Robert P. Stein is a special counsel in the firm’s Litigation practice. He handles complex litigation matters, with a focus on international arbitration and the array of legal issues that affect multinational corporations. Prior to joining Pashman Stein Walder Hayden, Robert was the general counsel at the Duferco Group, an international company with headquarters in Lugano, Switzerland, that is engaged in the worldwide trading and distribution of steel products. With revenues in excess of $8 billion, it is the largest privately held steel trading company in the world. As general counsel to the Duferco Group, Robert was responsible for all substantial corporate legal matters, including litigation and international arbitration matters, as well as complex mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures.

Prior to becoming general counsel to the Duferco Group, Robert was a senior partner at Camhy, Karlinsky & Stein, a prominent New York City law firm that merged with Greenberg Traurig LLP in 2000, where he was a litigation shareholder until October 2005. As a trial lawyer, he has represented diverse companies and substantial individuals and has tried an array of cases to a successful conclusion in both the federal and state courts as well as before international arbitration tribunals.

Robert is proud of the results he has achieved for clients, some of which are noted here.  Of course, each legal matter is unique on many levels, and past successes are not a guarantee of results in any other pending or future matters.
